About the Event

Aquatic invasive species (AIS) are one of the greatest threats to biodiversity worldwide. Invasive aquatic fish such as round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) threaten aquatic ecosystems by displacing and outcompeting native fish for resources like space, food, and spawning areas. Their aggressive eating habits and ability to spawn several times each season have helped them multiply and spread quickly. Join this session to learn about AIS in Pennsylvania with a special focus on the round goby. Amber Stilwell, from Pennsylvania Sea Grant, will help participants build identification skills to prevent further spread of highly invasive aquatic animals and plants. By working together to prevent the spread of AIS, we can support the future of Pennsylvania waters for all.

We hope you can join us!
