Peter Walker

Peter Walker joined the Glade Run Lake Conservancy in 2019.

Peter was born in England, brought up in Ireland, and has lived all over the world before coming to Pittsburgh in 2014. Peter trained as an environmental scientist but spent most of his career in overseas aid work in Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia, and Central America. In 2014, he moved to Pittsburgh to take up the post of Dean of Chatham University's Falk School of Sustainability and Environment based at the new Eden Hall campus in Gibsonia, PA. Peter retired in June 2020.

Peter's wife, Cheri, works locally at the Lake View Tennis Club on Route 8. They have three children, all left home now. Gareth is in Seattle working on computer things, Megan is an artist based in Massachusetts, and Gwilym works on an organic farm in northern California.

Peter and Cheri have recently moved to Steiner Bridge Road, keep chickens, grow their own vegetables and fruit, and have bought a small rowing boat so they can spend more time on Glade Run Lake. Peter has taken up wood-working again, and Cheri, like their daughter, paints.
