Karlee Holmes

Director

Native to Armstrong County, Karlee was born and raised in Freeport, PA. Her love for nature began at a young age through collecting specimens to observe under her microscope, keeping track of the bird species that visited the backyard, and exploring National Parks.

Karlee earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Management from Duquesne University. She went on to become a federal park ranger with the Army Corps of Engineers and later worked as a field director with an elk conservation non-profit.

Presently, Karlee is proud to be a full-time mom to her son, Jasper, and a part-time biology instructor at Butler County Community College (BC3). In addition to teaching at the higher education level, she teaches a variety of conservation and outdoor recreation courses in BC3's Lifelong Learning Department.

Karlee joined the Glade Run Lake Conservancy (GRLC) board in 2020. To support the conservation and enhancement efforts of the GRLC, she plans to combine her environmentalbackground and marketing/communications experience to assist in raising funds and awareness.

In her spare time, Karlee enjoys birding, taking photos, fishing, kayaking, and traveling. One of her favorite things to do is to spend date night kayaking with her husband, Josh, at Glade Run Lake - watching the sun go down over the dam never gets old.
