In 2025, Glade Run Lake Conservancy (GRLC) hosted a new event at Glade Run Lake: Celebrate The Lake.

The goal of Celebrate the Lake was to promote the lake and provide the community and surrounding areas with an opportunity to experience it. By expanding on the GRLC's previous events, the group hoped to attract more interest and attention for the lake. GRLC also hoped to raise additional funds towards its important mission of protecting in perpetuity the 2,000 acre watershed surrounding Glade Run Lake through land acquisition and conservation easements.
The GRLC board members spent countless hours over an 8-month period preparing, marketing, and recruiting for the big event. Though there were a few challenges along the way, the outcome was well worth it.
A total of 30 vendors participated, varying from local nonprofit organizations, artisans, and food trucks. Three live animal exhibits focused on rescued farm animals, alpacas, and rescued birds, and a live musical performance offered additional entertainment from a talented local musician. In addition, four gifted speakers led presentations highlighting different nature topics throughout the event.
The GRLC was excited to feature a kid's station with a variety of nature-themed activities and educational materials along with a fun giveaway contest for the first 50 participants. The fundraiser was the GRLC's best ever with almost 20 raffle baskets and five silent auctions. Another notable feature was being permitted to allow for the sale of alcohol on the lake property for the first time ever! Adults were able to enjoy local beer and wine throughout the day.
All of this contributed to the huge success of this first-time event. From this achievement, the GRLC board has decided to make Celebrate The Lake an annual celebration. As such, the group is taking all that was learned from last year and aspiring to make this second annual event even better!
Celebrate The Lake will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 11am-3pm at Glade Run Lake, Lake Rd. Valencia, PA 16059. The GRLC plans to feature new activities as well as include last year's favorites, so be sure to save the date!

QuickBooks to Dynamics 365 Business Central Migration
The initial choice towards QuickBooks is pretty obvious and more likely to be the fast and easy decision for a small businesses or say, micro businesses at the beginning. As the small business takes shape towards the growth in market, its complexity also gets increased alongside which is when QuickBooks can no longer suffice the needs of the business.
Hence, it is important and much needed to migrate to Dynamics 365 Business Central for its ease of use and fulfilment for the complex needs of the growing small businesses and mid-size businesses.
Reading this made me imagine spending a whole day outside, running freely, turning simple moments into little games. I love how events like this bring that feeling back, where even basketball legends become something playful on the grass, laughing with friends. It is not an event, it feels like a memory waiting to happen in nature someday for everyone here.
Hey there! This Celebrate the Lake event sounds like an amazing way to bring the community together. I’m curious, what activities do you have planned for kids? It would be great to see something interactive, maybe even in the spirit of fun games like slope game where everyone can join in! Last summer, I hosted a mini lake day with friends that turned into a little competition with water games—everyone loved it! Excited to hear more about your plans for 2026!
